We Need You
From Major Donors to State Captains to Petition Privates, a balanced budget will only happen if we build an army of Americans to demand action before it’s to late. Here are ways large and small how you can help make the Balanced Budget Amendment a reality.
The Patriots -- Fifty-Six Leaders
On July 4, 1776, fifty-six entrepreneurs, farmers, lawyers and clergy members gathered in Philadelphia to jointly sign a statement of principle that created our new nation and set the standard for the world.
We need fifty-six modern-day patriots to gather in Philadelphia to launch a declaration of renewed independence, by re-establishing the financial freedom of our nation with the passage of the Balanced Budget Amendment.
The 56 Patriots will be invited to participate as special guests at all Deficit Free sponsored events including the national kick-off press conference in Philadelphia, the private press train to Washington DC, the Deficit Free Congressional reception, and if they so choose, may be called upon for national press opportunities, including the publishing of guest editorials, TV appearances, and press interviews.
Patriots will be asked to contribute or raise $25,000. Please contact Deficit Free to find out more.
Deficit Free State Captains – Be A Leader for Your State (1 to 4 per state)
Our movement for a Balanced Budget Amendment must reach all 50 states. Please consider becoming a State Co-Captain by committing to contribute or raise at least $5,000, and/or help garner 5,000 Deficit Free Pledge Signers, and/or host at least one Congressional outreach reception. State Co-Chairs may be called upon for press opportunities, including the publishing of guest editorials, TV appearances, and press interviews. Please contact Deficit Free to find out more.
Deficit Free Congressional District Directors (1 to 2 per Congressional District)
We need you to take charge in your Congressional district by organizing Petition signers into action your member of Congress cannot ignore. Can you help contribute or raise $1,000, or help outreach to have 1,000 people sign the Deficit Free petition? By finding just 10 friends to sign the petition and having their 10 friends sign, and then their 10 friends sign, you will have reached the goal of 1,000 petition signers. Congressional District Directors will additionally be asked to meet personally with their member of Congress on Deficit Free’s behalf to encourage their support of the Balanced Budget Amendment.
