Candidate Pledge

Whereas, the United States national debt exceeds $12 Trillion, some $40,000 per person and $160,000 per family of four;

Whereas, the United States Federal deficit is estimated to be $1.4 Trillion for the 2010-2011 fiscal year and above $1 Trillion for years to come;

Whereas long-term Federal obligations now exceed $52.7 Trillion, some $173,000 per person and nearing $700,000 for every family of four;

Whereas, the United States now owes over $3.5 Trillion to foreign debt holders, an increase of 28.2% in just the past 12 months;

Whereas, our nation’s independence is at risk with such high foreign indebtedness;

Whereas the current deficit spending is both economically unsustainable and morally unconscionable;

Now, therefore I pledge as a candidate for Congress, that if elected I will:

____ Co-Sponsor the Balanced Budget Constitutional Amendment
(H. J. Res 1, in the current 111th Congress)

____ Vote in favor of the Balanced Budget Constitutional Amendment


____ Join the Balanced Budget Congressional Member Caucus
