It's about the deficit.

An Army of 5 Million American Voters  -- by July 4, 2010
A Balanced Budget Amendment  -- by July 4th, 2013
A Balanced Federal Budget  -- by July 4th, 2016

On July 4th, 2016, the United States of America turns 240 years old. It is also almost exactly when, under current estimates, Social Security moves from surplus to deficit.

If we have not balanced the Federal budget by July 4, 2016, chances are we will not without a cataclysmic economic event. Economic signs already point to substantial dangers.

That’s why DeficitFree.com has been launched -- a national grassroots campaign launched by some of America's most successful grassroots activists. We know the problem is Washington DC. We know the answer is to rise up an army of voters across America to demand action now!

What’s at stake? America’s independence.

Our national debt, deficit and negative account balances with foreign countries have grown so huge, it no longer just imperils our children and grandchildren – it imperils us!

Foreign debt holders, like China, Middle East Oil Kingdoms, Caribbean Banking Centers and others are now in the position to dictate terms, not just on our debt, but on our foreign policies, our economic interests, our basic freedoms. (See who we owe $12 Trillion - click here!)

The solution?

A Balanced Budget Amendment passed by Congress by a date certain -- July 4, 2013
Our nation can renew our independence by balancing our budget by a date certain – July 4, 2016.

Both will be possible only if we can build an army of 5 Million American Voters by a date certain -- July 4, 2010

This will not happen without American Voters joining together to demand action by Congress. This will not happen without YOU!

Please join us today in a call to balance the Federal budget by July 4th, 2016, and in a call for a Balanced Budget Constitutional Amendment by July 4, 2013. It would be the best birthday gifts we could give our nation.

"I, the undersigned citizen of the United States, demand that the U.S. Congress refer the BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT to the states for ratification. It clearly is the only way to ensure fiscal sanity and to renew America’s independence from our foreign debt holders. I urge you to act swiftly, before our national debt and deficit creates a cataclysmic economic collapse.
